Roy Dean Perry, a Central High School graduate, was a
local businessman and avid baseball fan who passed
away in 2003.
After his passing, his family and friends wished to honor
him in some way. It was decided the most fitting
memorial would be to fund a a scholarship for a member
of the Camp Point Central High School Baseball Team.
In order to encourage participation in the baseball
program and further academic excellence, a $500
scholarship for freshman college expenses will be
awarded to a qualified senior member of the CHS
baseball team.
In 2008the RDP Board of Directors proudly announced that the
first scholarship was now funded and as a result Roy’s
name would be forever be a part of CHS Baseball.
Furthermore, future funds collected will be used to
establish a second similar scholarship to be awarded to
a qualified graduating senior member of the CHS softball
team.
